Tommy Farrell is one of those guys who’ll do anything for anyone. Any of us who’ve worked at New Jersey 101.5 have learned that over and over again.

For instance, there was that one time I asked Tommy to dress up as Pikachu and wander out into the blisteringly hot streets of Trenton, New Jersey — and he agreed before asking why:

So when Tommy texted me a few weeks ago to ask if I’d take photos as he popped the question to the love of his life, Sophie … well, it didn’t matter very much that I’d be getting home from Acadia the night before at like 45 O’Clock or that I had to work that day. Of course I’d do it.

So there we were, on the beach at Seaside Park. Tommy nervously getting ready to ask the question that would change his life. Me, creeping out strangers by trying to look like I was taking pictures of anything but Tommy and Sophie as they paid for their parking … and politely telling the nice man who let us onto the dunes he might want to can it with all the “run for the hills” talk.

May these two forever be as happy as they made each other in that moment.
