Wissahickon? Thissahickon! Photos from a nature walk in Philly

Goose in Flight!

Call this episode 903 of my don’t-just-live-in-Philly-but-be-of-Philly adventure.

Reed Gustow (known to the Philly tech community as the go-to Wordpress guy for ages, and more recently to the Philly creative community as a keen-eyed photographer) and I have been talking for a while about getting out for a photo walk. We finally made the time this weekend, hitting up the Wissahickon, with its peaceful-ish trails and easily accessible waterfalls.

I’ve been working lately on setting saner, healthier expectations of myself. It wasn’t long ago I found myself feeling stress and pressure on vacations and day trips, worried that if I didn’t bring back wowie-wow-wow shots, I was somehow letting people (or myself) down. That’s, of course, ridiculous (and not what vacations are for).

So I approached this weekend’s walk a lot more casually: As a nice time out, where I happened to have my camera. And it was, and I did.

I also got my jeans soggy and my sneakers wet. The things we do for art.
